Word of the Day / Quote of the Day

Quote of the Day:

“Tanner is smuggling whole people in his dashiki.”

Why?: A report from David as Tanner passed by with Carlos totally up in his dashiki.  These are the antics that come from white people performing selections from The Lion King in traditional African garb.  Okay, Carlos is Latino, but you get the point!

Word of the Day: SLAP!

Why?: The slap heard around the world. Alex took one for the team while rehearsing “Two By Two” from the Broadway smash, The Book of Mormon. My favorite part might be Jeff’s genuine Southern-expressed concern; I love me some Georgians, right, Sarah?! Kudos to Alex for staying in character!

Quote of the Day:

  • Rob: Wait. So, there will be one cheek on my shoulder and one cheek on Jeff's, right?
  • Lindsey: Yes.
  • Rob: Okay, so I only have to handle half-a-donk.
  • Lindsey: Well, with me, half-a-donk is most people's full donk.
  • Rob: Whatever. This Donkologist would handle your full donk just fine, trust!
  • Why?: Oh, the conversations we have while rehearsing "All That Jazz" for AN EVENING ON BROADWAY. Shout out to all the nice Donkey Booties out there! Ya feel me, fellow Donkologists?

Quote of the Day: Alternative Lyrics

(Sang to the tune of “One” from A Chorus Line) “Do, I, really have dementia?”

Why?: The lyrics are actually, “Do, I, really have to mention, she’s the one”.  But apparently James C. (Greg) had other concerns when he began to jumble up the lyrics in rehearsal last night.  Anyone else need a nap?

Quote of the Day:

(said very monotonously and without any flare or enthusiasm) “Pluck-pluck-pluck-pluck, girl.”

Why?: Last night at music rehearsal for A Chorus Line, Devin - our Richie - delivered this gem in stark contrast to his usual, enthusiastic, ghetto-infused version. Perhaps it was mere exhaustion taking over, but this was just enough to put the whole cast in stitches. Even Midge - our wonderful Music Director - had to stop the “Montage” so she could laugh it out with us. One of my favorite rehearsal moments so far!
